Overview
You have full control over your data in Voyage. Most deletion actions happen instantly from inside the app. For data that isn’t exposed via an in-app delete button (or if you can’t access the app), email us at connect@thevoyage.ai from the email address tied to your account.
This page covers two distinct cases: deleting your entire account, and deleting specific data (like a single pet) while keeping your account active.
Delete your account
Deleting your account permanently removes your profile and everything tied to it. You’ll be signed out automatically.
In-app steps (recommended — takes 10 seconds)
- Open the Voyage app.
- Tap Settings (the gear icon).
- Tap Account.
- Scroll to the Danger Zone section at the bottom.
- Tap Delete account and confirm.
You’ll see this confirmation: “Are you sure you want to delete your account? This action cannot be undone and will permanently delete all your data including pets, diaries, and chat history.”
If you can’t access the app
Email connect@thevoyage.ai from your account email with the subject “Account deletion request.” We’ll acknowledge within 7 days and complete the deletion within 30 days.
Delete a specific pet
You can remove an individual pet (and every record tied to that pet) without deleting your account.
In-app steps
- Open the Voyage app.
- Tap Settings.
- Tap Pets and select the pet you want to remove.
- Tap Edit Pet, then scroll to the bottom.
- Tap Delete and confirm.
You’ll see this confirmation: “Are you sure you want to remove [pet name]? All their records and memories will be deleted forever.”
Note: You must keep at least one pet on your account. If you want to delete your last pet, use the account deletion flow instead.
Delete other data (chats, diary entries, photos)
Voyage doesn’t currently surface individual delete buttons for saved diary entries, saved chat sessions, or individual photos attached to saved entries. To remove these without deleting your whole account, email connect@thevoyage.ai from your account email and tell us:
- The email address on your Voyage account.
- What you’d like deleted (e.g. “all chat history for my pet Bella”, “diary entries from January 2026”, a specific photo).
- A screenshot if it helps us find the right item.
We’ll acknowledge within 7 days and complete the deletion within 30 days. See Timeline.
What is deleted
When you delete your account, the following are permanently removed from our systems:
- Account profile (email, login credentials, settings).
- All pet profiles (name, breed, age, weight, medical information).
- Pet photos and videos uploaded to Voyage.
- Diary entries and AI-generated diary content.
- Chat conversations with the AI assistant.
- Health assessments, triage results, and nutrition analyses.
- Medical records and uploaded veterinary documents.
- Voice-call transcripts (voice recordings themselves are never stored beyond the live call).
- Vector embeddings derived from your content (used for semantic search inside the app).
- Push notification tokens.
When you delete a single pet, everything in the list above that’s tied to that pet is removed; data tied to your other pets and your account stays intact.
What is kept, and for how long
A small amount of data is retained after deletion, for reasons described below. None of it can be used to identify you after deletion completes.
- Aggregated, anonymized analytics: usage counts and feature-adoption metrics with no personal identifiers. Retained indefinitely for product analytics.
- Operational logs: error and performance logs that may reference internal IDs. We strip user-identifying fields within 30 days of your deletion request; the underlying events otherwise age out per our logging provider’s retention policy.
- Records we’re legally required to keep: for example, tax and accounting records for in-app purchases. Retained only for the statutory minimum and not used for any other purpose.
- Third-party AI providers: when you used AI features, copies of the data you sent may persist for a short period on the AI provider’s side per their own retention policies. We do not control that retention. The full list of providers is in our Privacy Policy.
Timeline
- In-app deletion (account or pet): processed immediately. You’ll be signed out as soon as account deletion completes.
- Email requests: acknowledged within 7 days, completed within 30 days.
- Aggregated/anonymized analytics: retained indefinitely (no personal identifiers).
- Operational logs: user identifiers stripped within 30 days; raw events age out per provider retention.
