It remembers the right pet — and shows its work.

One test follows facts through change and cross-pet interference. The other checks whether veterinary claims carry evidence you can open.

Beyond the benchmark

What continuity looks like at home.

Different pets, different moments — with the relevant history still attached to each one.

My diabetic cat's blood sugar crashed at home. Voyage said get to the ER now — and to rub honey on her gums on the way. I'd been hesitating; it saved her.

My dog's muzzle kept breaking out. Now I just photograph it and Voyage tracks every flare — we've managed it without another vet visit.
Tom R.Biscuit's dad · Manchester, UK
I make my cat's food myself. Voyage caught that she wasn't getting enough taurine — I added it, and her health turned right around.

I put a new hamster in with my older one and she ended up bitten. Voyage said to separate them right away — it healed up fast.

Where it falls short

What it can't do.

Voyage is not a substitute for examination by a licensed veterinarian. On rare and complex cases it will be less sure than your vet — and it is built to say so rather than guess.

  • No physical exam

It can't palpate an abdomen, listen to a heart, or take a temperature.

  • No bloodwork or imaging

Bloods, x-rays and ultrasound are how many conditions are actually confirmed.

  • It can't prescribe

Only a licensed vet who has examined your pet can legally prescribe or dose.

No — and we'd never want to be. Voyage is for the space between visits: triaging urgency, tracking symptoms, and arriving at the clinic better prepared. For anything serious, always contact your vet or an emergency clinic.

Four differences, and the last one is the one that matters at 2am. It knows your pet — species, breed, age, and what you logged last time — so you aren't re-explaining from scratch. It answers from two named channels — an index of veterinary reference works and peer-reviewed journals, plus a live search of the veterinary literature for anything newer — and cites the passage behind each claim, so you can check it instead of trusting it. It ends on a verdict rather than a list of possibilities: emergency — go now, urgent — see a vet soon, or monitor at home. And it is willing to give you the boring answer — a general assistant hedges toward "see a vet" for almost anything, which is barely more useful than not asking. Voyage will tell you when watching at home is the right call, so when it does say go now, that carries weight.

It has no hands. It can't examine your pet, run bloodwork or imaging, or prescribe — only a vet who has examined your animal can do that. On rare and complex cases it will be less certain than your vet, and it is built to say so rather than guess. We publish the full list at thevoyage.ai/ai-vet-accuracy.

Don't type — go. Trouble breathing, collapse, a hard bloated belly, suspected poisoning, repeated seizures, or straining but unable to urinate all mean an emergency vet, right now. Voyage will tell you the same thing, but the drive matters more than the answer.

Dogs and cats, plus the exotics most pet apps quietly ignore — rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, rats, ferrets, birds, reptiles, chinchillas, and hedgehogs. Exotic coverage is deliberate rather than dog advice reshaped to fit another species, and each pet gets a profile tailored to their species, age, and history.

No. You can describe a symptom and read the assessment without signing up. An account is what lets Voyage remember the episode — so the next time something looks off, it already knows what happened last time.

Your first assessment is free and needs no account; a free account gives you three every 30 days. Subscriptions are $6.99/mo for one pet or $14.99/mo for unlimited pets, or $49.99/yr and $89.99/yr on annual billing. A one-time Lifetime purchase is $99.99 for one pet and $179.99 for unlimited pets. You can pay by card on the web or subscribe in the app. Full details at thevoyage.ai/pricing.
